“Jack Blackbird is a solitary boy, hopping in the shadows beneath the foliage and always watching you with his yellow ringed eye. Though his feathers may not be bright, his is considered the most beautiful of songs, as he calls to you that the rain has finally ended.”
Jack Blackbird is made from black and charcoal Harris tweed with a purple overcheck and plain black tweed. He has a beady little black resin button eye, ringed with golden felt. He is appliquéd onto a lantern that has been covered with green leaf print Batik fabric. My batik fabric comes from Hoffman Batiks, who are a 90 year old Californian, family run firm. All of their batik is hand printed in Bali.
The lantern measures 12cm high with a diameter of 10cm.
This lantern is suitable for use with battery powered tea lights or filled with a string of fairy lights. Do not use with candles as the fabric is not flame retardant
