“Silent in flight, Bernard the Barn Owl is a creature of the night. Wearing his heart shaped mask, he hunts in perfect darkness. Nothing gets past this big eyed boy, his ears so finely tuned that some say he can even hear the stars breathing.”

Bernard Barn Owl is made from Yorkshire herringbone and checked tweed. He has a beady little black resin button eye. The details on his body have been needle felted from natural merino fibres.

The layers of tweed have been needle felted, free motion embroidered together and backed with vintage leather, most of which were my grandads samples from his days as the manager of Leeds Tannery in the 1960’s.

As the samples came in postcard size pieces of all colours and styles, the leather used to back your keyring may be different from the picture. The keyring is copper riveted together and has a 2.5cm copper split ring.

He measures  approximately 6 x 10cm.

Because all of my tweedy birds are hand made, they all have a distinct personality. There may be small differences between yours and the one in the picture
