Moongazing Hare Lantern
“Harriet Hare contemplates the moon, locked in her silent gaze as she awaits the madness of March. Here she may pause, before boxing season is upon her, where starry skies are etched with her promise of new beginnings.”
Harriet hare is made from greenish grey overcheck tweed and pale pink patterned harris tweed. Her belly and tail are needle-felted from natural merino fibres. She has a black resin button eye and hand stitched brown cotton whiskers. She is appliquéd onto a lantern that has been covered with a blue and green spotted cotton Batik fabric. My batik fabric comes from Hoffman Batiks, who are a 90 year old Californian, family run firm. All of their batik is hand printed in Bali.
The lantern measures 12cm high with a diameter of 10cm.
This lantern is suitable for use with battery powered tea lights or filled with a string of fairy lights. Do not use with candles as the fabric is not flame retardant.
